Cricket Match Spectacular By Ashtyn Moses-Jones Last Monday good sportsmanship was shown when the Beckenham school yr 6 cricket team played their first game. The team played against Oaklands School and the exciting match was held at Beckenham Park (next to Beckenham School).
Beckenham struck gold and continued to hold the winning place right until the very end, 3 to Oaklands and 91 to Beckenham. Beckenham’s coach Mr Bruce Rodger explained that good sportsmanship was shared by all and that the crowd were supportive of both teams although some of people went a bit wild when the results were told but as the saying goes you forgive and forget this .
Hannah a player in the Beckenham team told us that both teams tried their best and that either team could have won also she said that cricket is a really fun way to get fit and stay healthy over the summer she encourages that people give cricket a try and never give up!
Beckenham’s next game will be played against Thorrington School and they are really hoping to win as if they win this match they just have to win one more game to get into the quarter finals!
Good luck Beckenham for all your future games.
